The West Point Society of Aiken-Augusta extended to the Principals of the Area Public and Private High Schools the opportunity for their students to participate in the first CSRA West Point Leadership and Ethics Conference. The conference will be held on Friday March 20, 2015. Silver Bluff High School, Aiken, SC will be the facilities host. This conference is modeled after the highly successful event held for the past seven years by the West Point Society of DC at George Mason University and others throughout the USA. It is hoped that all of the 36 County and Independent High School principals in the CSRA will take advantage of this opportunity to help develop their aspiring student leaders of character.

The purpose of this conference is to provide leadership development so delegates model ethical behavior for their peers. Our intent is to help our developing leaders confront and deal with the ethical challenges they face in school today and beyond. West Point's Leadership and Ethics curriculum has been widely used around the country to help schools develop our Nation's future leaders of character.

Each invited school can nominate two outstanding 11th grade student-leader delegates as well as one faculty member, parent or volunteer adult delegate for the conference. Our keynote speakers will be recognized leaders who will share their experiences on leadership and ethics. Cadets and Midshipmen from the National Military Academies will lead small group discussions on leadership and ethical challenges experienced by students. Faculty delegates will be engaged in separate sessions throughout the day regarding leadership and ethics in schools. Faculty delegates who complete the entire day's session will receive certificates for their professional development credit. Student delegates will be eligible to compete for up to $1500 in scholarships that will be presented at each winner's school. There is no cost for those selected for attendance except that they must provide their own transportation to the Conference.

Participating High Schools must submit the official registration form including information about their selected 11th Grade students and the faculty/volunteer adult attendee no later than January 16, 2015. The Conference Registration form can be downloaded below.
